ACP is expanding into Western Australia, Hands Across Canberra is embarking on a tremendous fundraising journey and launching the city’s first online giving day on 11 March, plus resources for community leaders from the Australian Institute for Disaster Resilience.

Last Thursday, we caught up with Kirsty Mawer, Bass Coast CF; Brad Butler, Fleurieu CF; Louise Halsey, Tumut Region CF; Dylan Smith, Fremantle Foundation; and Gabby Lam, Australian CF

Louise reported that the Dunn’s Road Fire Appeal now stands at $180,000 and this week the Pratt Foundation has announced its support for the VisyTumut Region Recovery Fund.

Brad updated us on recovery efforts in the Adelaide Hills and on Kangaroo Island, with the Fleurieu Peninsula placed squarely in the middle of these two regions. The Island in particular is facing numerous distinct recovery hurdles, including asbestos-laden leftover rubble and rehabilitating its rare birdlife and Ligurian bee populations.
