Australian Community Philanthropy (ACP) is pleased to announce the appointment of Clare Gregory to a newly created Coordinator position for the project “Supporting development of community philanthropy in WA” that is generously supported by the Minderoo Foundation.

Clare started in this role on 9 March. She is based at the Fremantle Foundation, which is partnering with ACP in delivering this three-year project. ACP Executive Officer Gerlinde Scholz and Fremantle Foundation Executive Officer Dylan Smith are delighted to welcome Clare to the project team.

Multi-skilled and with a passion for celebrating and nurturing community-driven social impact, Clare holds a Bachelor of Community Development from Edith Cowan University and has several years’ experience successfully running various grassroots projects around Perth. More recently, she worked at a consultancy firm where she honed her facilitation skills, supporting a wide range of clients from large national organisations to small not-for-profits in leadership development and organisational culture programs. Outside of work, Clare is enthusiastically involved in the Perth music and arts community.

Clare is excited to bring her knowledge, skills and experience to this new ACP initiative to help drive further development of community philanthropy in WA. She is looking forward to connecting with community foundation practitioners in WA and other community and collective giving leaders.

“From fires and floods to the corona virus pandemic, these are challenging times for communities,” commented Gerlinde Scholz. “Connected and collective approaches to problem solving and working together for the common good have never been more important. It is a time for community foundations to engage, to respond and to lead. Clare will proactively work with community philanthropy leaders in WA to build and strengthen local capacity at this critical time.”
